OFH_PhotoKitchen_MG_2156Evan K. DuBro, is the founder and CEO of Our Family Home, a state licensed Adult Family Home that provides 24 hour high quality personal care services for individuals affected by Alzheimer’s/Dementia. We are the first provider of this care concept in Central Ohio.

In 1994, Evan began his career as a nursing home administrator working for Sun Health Care Group where he was instrumental in creating a memory care unit. From that early experience and throughout his career, Evan has always had a passion to serve individuals with Alzheimer’s and memory loss.

His mission and passion for Alzheimer’s became clear when he experienced the challenges of advancing Alzheimer’s with his grandparents and, later, his own mother. From those experiences, Evan became committed to the idea that all disabled seniors deserve to live in a residential home with dignity and respect. From that belief, Our Family Home was created.

Evan is proud to serve the Central Ohio Alzheimer’s Association by volunteering in several roles. Evan is an active Board Member and also serves as the National Alzheimer’s Ambassador to educate, and discuss issues/concerns with local, state, and federal legislators. In addition, Evan is a trained speaker of the local Alzheimer’s Speakers Bureau, which goes out into the community to educate small and large organizations about Alzheimer’s disease. The local Alzheimer’s chapter supports Our Family Home’s Four Principles of Memory Care that sets a high standard of care for those with memory loss.

A husband and father of three, Evan knows the importance of family. After 3 1/2 years of his mother living in Our Family Home’s care, Sandra DuBro has succumbed to Alzheimer’s Disease in fall of 2012. Evan is thankful to have created a company that was able to take care of his mother and many other people’s loved ones. Until there is a cure for Alzheimer’s/Dementia, Evan will continue to support the movement to find a cure, and at the same time, provide dignified and respectful long term care through Our Family Home.
